About the Coronation Concert

A concert will be held in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Sunday 7 May to mark the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The concert will be attended by an audience including volunteers from Her Majesties' supported charities.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds and will be supported by the entire BBC network. It will be shown on big screens at screening venues in London and at events across the country.

The concert features music, dance and spoken word performances and a host of famous faces, from musical icons to contemporary stars of stage and screen.

Please read these instructions carefully if you plan to visit the London venue. Note that large crowds are expected and public transport is likely to be very busy.

The Windsor concert is for ticket holders only.

Public voting for the ticket application is now closed. Please do not travel to Windsor to access the concert unless you have a ticket. you will not be admitted and there are no ceremonies at Windsor for the coronation.

If you have a ticket to the concert, you will receive immediate information in the next few days to help you plan your trip.

How to watch

Screening of the Coronation Concert at events

The BBC has confirmed a special exemption from the TV license for the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. If you are organizing an event, you do not need a TV license to show the coronation on 6 May 2023 or the coronation concert on 7 May 2023.Read more on the BBC website.

Watch the coronation concert on location in London

You can watch the concert on location in St James's Park. The concert will be shown on a big screen in the park. Please note that there will be no screens in Hyde Park.

The concert starts on Sunday, May 7 at 8 p.m.You can access the St James's Park screening area from 4pm, but the screens may not be on until the concert starts.

Access to the screening area is free. There will be first aid facilities, restrooms, water filling stations and concession stands where you can purchase food and drink.

The screening area will have an accessible screening area that can be used by people with accessibility needs.Read the Accessibility sectionFor more information.

Follow instructions from flight attendants and police, who monitor the crowd and help everyone stay safe. If you choose to leave your filming location during the concert, you may lose your viewing location.

Accessibility

An accessible viewing area is available for those with accessibility needs. The accessible viewing area is on the ground floor.

This area has limited capacity and people are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. People using the accessible screening room can be accompanied by up to 3 carers or chaperones.

The accessible viewing area has:

  • Accessible viewing areas on the ground floor, with special seating for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility and other accessibility requirements.
  • British Sign Language Interpreter.
  • A hearing loop for use by people with hearing aids.
  • Welfare points to provide further assistance if needed.
  • Accessible toilet and changing rooms.

The screening area also has a quiet room where you can enjoy the concert in peace. The quiet room has soft seating and earplugs are available for use.

Anyone can use the quiet room at any time. However, this space has limited capacity and people are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessible transportation

Stations without step

Transport to London offers a'Get up and leave'service to help passengers who need extra assistance, such as visually impaired, mobility impaired and large groups traveling together. This could include offering ramps, help getting around the station or transfer between trains and suggesting alternative or non-stop routes.

The turn up and go service is offered on the Tube and London Overground, and most stations on the Elizabeth line. You don't need to book this service in advance, just ask the staff at the station for help.

What to expect in the screening area

To keep everyone safe, security measures are in place at all locations. You or your bag may be searched before you can enter.

Please note that there is a temporary restriction on the use of drones in ceremony areas, including viewing areas and screening areas. You may not attempt to fly a drone in these areas, for photography or any other reason.

There are first aid facilities, toilets, water refill points and concession stands where you can buy food and drink at the test site. You may bring your own food and drink, but where possible please do not bring glass items (such as glasses) into the venues. Broken glass is a hazard to other visitors and wildlife and can be difficult to remove, especially in park areas.

Behavior and behavior

There will be flight attendants and police officers at the screening area to help keep everyone safe. Antisocial or inappropriate behavior (including excessive drinking or drunkenness) will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave.

It should:

  • Follow the instructions of flight attendants, event staff and police at all times.
  • Dispose of waste in the designated waste and recycling bins.
  • Respect your environment. The Royal Parks are historic sites and provide a diverse habitat for wildlife. Stay on sidewalks, do not damage or remove plants, and do not attempt to climb or attach anything to trees.
  • Remember to leave your belongings unattended and report any unattended bags or luggage to flight attendants or the police.
  • Leave the viewing area quietly so as not to disturb the residents of the area.

What you should and shouldn't bring

Don't forget to bring:

  • Appropriate clothing for the weather. You may want to bring warm, protective clothing or an umbrella in cold or wet weather, or sunscreen and a hat if it's likely to be sunny.
  • A bottle of water. There will be water refill stations at the checkpoint where you can refill bottles. There will also be concession stands where you can purchase food and drinks, but you may want to bring your own refreshments (especially if you have specific dietary requirements).
  • Appropriate footwear. You will be outside for a long time, so we advise you to wear comfortable shoes.
  • You may want to bring a blanket, stool or folding chair to sit on, as the projection screen is in a grassy area (but be aware that there may not be room to use or store it).

You cannot bring:

  • Barbecue and fire equipment.
  • Drones. The use of drones is not permitted in any of the ceremonies, including viewing areas and viewing areas. You may not attempt to fly a drone in these areas, for photography or any other reason. You may be fined and your drone may be confiscated.
  • Glassware. Broken glass is a hazard to other visitors and wildlife and can be difficult to remove. If you bring your own drinks, please use paper or plastic cups for your drinks.
