From historical presentations to children's story and craft hours to concerts and movie nights, there's always something fun going on.

While not technically in Glastonbury, Hurlbutt-Dunham House is a maximum of 9 miles awaycharming small townfrom Wethersfield. Once owned by Captain John Hurlbut, this fine Georgian house, managed and lovingly restored by the Wethersfield Historical Society, dates from the 1790s.

Inside, visitors can glimpse the daily lives of members of the Dunham family who lived here between 1907 and 1935. Antique furniture, fixtures and ornate ceilings are just some of the artifacts on display.

Tour tickets can be purchased next door at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center.

Glastonbury is home toAmerica's oldest continuously operating ferry, which transports travelers across the Connecticut River between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury. It is aptly known as Rocky Hill Glastonbury Ferry. More barge than ferry, the original ship once ferried people across the river in 1655.

Today, a diesel-powered tug called the Cumberland tows the three-car Hollister III flatboat from one destination to the next, offering guests panoramic views of the river on the short trip.

Those who prefer to admire the "ferry" from land can enjoy the nearby nature trail and picnic tables.
